What is a Design Loop?
A design loop is a tool used by engineers to figure out where they are in the process of engineering and what they should do next.
The first step is always to figure out what your idea or problem is. After that, you make a design brief. A design brief serves as a blueprint that you can use to mark up specific specifications or write down information on. For the next steps, you research and brainstorm some possible solutions, which can take days or weeks depending on how complicated the problem or idea is.
After those steps, you form a solution to act upon and create a prototype of model. You then test and analyze the prototype and redesign or fix it if needed. Here, the design loop comes full circle, and you repeat this steps until your design is finished.
